Bargabhima Mandir, also called Bhimakali Mandir, is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of Hindu tradition, marking the spot where Goddess Sati's left ankle is said to have fallen. Standing on the banks of the Rupnarayan River, the shrine dates back roughly 1,150 years to the Mayur dynasty, with architecture blending Bengali, Odia and Buddhist influences.
